PITTSBURGH — Wagler’s Camp Perry, located on Perry Highway, joins a growing list on Friday, February 7, becoming the latest Village Post Office (VPO) in the Western PA District. The Village Post Office is part of the Postal Service’s initiative to provide communities with expanded access to postal products.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Friday, February 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Wagler’s Camp Perry, 2560 Perry Highway, Clarks Mills, PA 16114.

The Clarks Mills Village Post Office - with operating hours Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. - offers sales of stamps and accepts pre-paid packages. The new VPO will also carry Expedited packaging (free Priority and Express Mail Flat-Rate boxes and envelopes) for added convenience in mailing packages. Wagler’s Camp Perry is a full-service convenience market and a gas station.

Village Post Offices are operated by local businesses and offer popular products and services such as stamps and Flat-Rate packaging. The VPO concept was established in response to the changing mailing needs of the American consumer as more and more customers demand easier, more convenient access to Postal products and services where they are conducting business in their communities.

Western PA Post Office Operations Manager Larry Mc Clain will officiate the ribbon-cutting ceremony with assistance by Wagler’s Camp Perry proprietor Brina Wagler.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation: 152 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With more than 31,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $65 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world’s mail. If it were a private-sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500. The Postal Service has been named the Most Trusted Government Agency for seven years and the fourth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute.
