WASHINGTON, DC — The Lehigh Valley Postal Customer Council (LVPCC) was awarded the prestigious United States Postal Service Postal Customer Council’s (PCC) PCC of the Year – Small Market – Silver Award, on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 at a ceremony held in Washington D.C. This award recognizes the Lehigh Valley PCC’s demonstrated exemplary performance in identifying new or unique ways for small and medium-sized customers to integrate mail strategies toward greater success. This is one of the highest honors in which a small market (population less than 500,000) PCC can be recognized. The Lehigh Valley PCC received this award from the US Postal Service Postmaster General/CEO Patrick R. Donahoe.
In addition, the USPS Central Pennsylvania District Manager Dale Walker was awarded the District Manager of the Year Award: Bronze. This award recognizes Walker for consistently demonstrating outstanding leadership by elevating the Lehigh Valley PCC’s performance to new heights and resolving mailer concerns and issues with a sense of urgency that produced positive results. Walker developed and successfully implemented multi-faceted ways to connect, communicate, and react with the area’s mailing industry to help them grow their business via new products and services.
Since 1972, the LVPCC has dedicated itself to providing its members with information and education on changes in postal rates, classifications, addressing data, delivery standards and virtually everything that could affect your “bottom line” before those changes are implemented by the United States Postal Service.
The Postal Customer Council is a network of business mailers and representatives of the U.S. Postal Service, who gather regularly to discuss and resolve local mailing issues as well as develop content-rich education programs. On both the national and local levels, Postal Customer Councils work to continually improve communications between the Postal Service and its customers by promoting an effective networking platform. There are 155 active PCCs nationwide.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
