Monessen Post Office to celebrate 50th anniversary

Special ceremony to pay honor to venerable customer destination which opened to public in 1964

MONESSEN—Fifty years ago the current Monessen Post Office building was opened to the public. A ceremony is planned to celebrate the Post Office’s 50th anniversary on Friday, May 23 at a.m. at the Post Office located at 821 Donner Avenue.

State Senator Ted Harhai will present the Post Office with a U.S. flag and Mayor Lou Mavrakis will be on hand to help celebrate the office’s long history of service to the Monessen community. Members of the American Legion Thomas McKee Post 28 will be onsite to honor the American Flag.
