PHILADELPHIA — The United States Postal Service, working in conjunction with the Postal Inspection Service and other law enforcement agencies, will temporarily lock out some blue collection boxes in the following Zip Code areas: 19102, 19106, 19107, 19145, 19146, 19147 and 19148 to increase public safety for the Democratic National Convention. The collection boxes will be locked out beginning Monday, July 25 through Friday July 29, 2016. Postal officials emphasize this is a precautionary security measure only.

A list of the collection box addresses is attached to this release.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
