PITTSBURGH — The Christmas Day and New Year’s Day federal holidays will be observed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 respectively. Post Offices will be closed on those days and only Priority Mail Express packages will be delivered. All Post Offices will be open and regular mail delivery will resume after the holidays on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
Blue collection boxes are not serviced on Sundays and that will be the case on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve this year. Regular collections will be made on Dec. 23 and Dec. 30.
Post Offices and Pittsburgh Branch offices will be open Saturday, Dec. 23, and Saturday, Dec. 30, in the Western PA District, encompassing 150-168 & 260 ZIP Code areas.
Delivery of mail for Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 will be unaffected by any changes to Post Office retail hours.

Using a credit or debit card, these self-service kiosks enable customers to conduct business at their convenience. SSKs enable customers to:
- Purchase self-adhesive “Print-On-Demand” stamps.
- Weigh, calculate and purchase postage in amounts for items weighing up to 70lbs.
- Send items via Priority Express Mail, Priority Mail and First Class Mail, as well as by Parcel Post services.
- Look up ZIP Codes and obtain Postal Service mailing information.
- Obtain Priority Express Mail, Certified Mail, and Return Receipts
- Purchase USPS Tracking™ service.
- Obtain a purchase receipt.
- Pay Post Office Box rents.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
