PITTSBURGH, PA -- Postal Service facilities will be closed for retail transactions on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of the 4th of July holiday. There will be no regular mail delivery and limited collection runs will be conducted throughout Pittsburgh and the Western PA District which encompasses PA ZIP Code areas: 150-168 and 260 in West Virginia.
Although, there will not be regular mail delivery on the 4th of July holiday, Priority Express Mail is delivered 365 days a year and will be delivered on July 4. Normal delivery and collection schedules will resume Thursday, July 5.
For added customer convenience, Self-Service Kiosks (SSKs) are available at the following locations and provide 24-hour access to many postal products and services:
Blawnox Branch – 1310 Old Freeport Road |
McMurray Retail Branch – 392 Washington Road |
Using a credit or debit card, these self-service kiosks enable customers to conduct business at their convenience. SSKs enable customers to:
- Purchase self-adhesive “Print-On-Demand” stamps.
- Weigh, calculate and purchase postage in amounts for items weighing up to 70lbs.
- Send items via Priority Express Mail, Priority Mail and First Class Mail, as well as by Parcel Post services.
- Look up ZIP Codes and obtain Postal Service mailing information.
- Obtain Priority Express Mail, Certified Mail, and Return Receipts
- Purchase USPS Tracking™ service.
- Obtain a purchase receipt.
- Pay Post Office Box rents.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
