Postal Officials Make Way for San Sebastian Festival in Old San Juan

Neighborhood Collection Boxes Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

San Juan PR — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal the Postal Service’s collection boxes during the celebration of the San Sebastian Festival, occurring Jan. 17 to Jan. 21 in Old San Juan.  

Select familiar blue collection boxes will be sealed in the 00901 ZIP Code, and in some cases removed, after the final scheduled collection of mail on Wednesday, Jan. 17. All collection boxes will return to full service after the festival on Monday, Jan. 22. 

Postal officials advise local customers to make alternative plans to mail outgoing items at impacted locations during this time period including:

  • Ave de la Constitucion
  • Calle Fortaleza
  • Calle Recintos
  • Calle La Puntilla
  • Calle de la Tanca
  • Passeo de Colon
  • Passeo Covadonga

For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or Post Offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
