U. S. Postal Inspection Service joins U. S. Attorney to recognize South Carolina Upstate Financial Crimes Task Force

EVENT:

A press conference recognizing federal cases successfully prosecuted as a result of the collaboration of the U. S. Postal Inspection Service, the U. S. Attorney’s Office of the District of South Carolina, and the Upstate Financial Crimes Task Force.

WHO:

The U. S. Postal Inspection Service of South Carolina, the U. S. Attorney’s Office of the District of South Carolina, and Representatives of local law enforcement authorities in the Upstate, including counties of: Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, Spartanburg, Cherokee, Union, Anderson, Laurens, Greenwood and Newberry.

DETAILS:

For the last five years, federal authorities have received valuable assistance from local law enforcement in Upstate South Carolina, making possible the successful prosecution of multiple white collar crime cases, including ID theft, mail theft and bank fraud. This event will detail specific cases prosecuted since Jan. 2010, and recognize the officers and their successful investigations. Crime-prevention tips will be given to protect the public regarding the most prevalent forms of criminal activity.
