The United States Postal Service invites the media to an invitations-only dedication ceremony designating the Ravenel Post Office as the Representative Curtis B. Inabinett, Sr. Post Office.

WHO:

Congressman James E. Clyburn and Curtis B. Inabinett, Sr. will unveil a portrait of the honoree for permanent installation in the Ravenel Post Office.  Reverend McKinley Washington, Jr. will host the event. 

WHAT:

H. R. 6379/Public Law 112-255 Passed January 10, 2013, designates the Ravenel Post Office as the Representative Curtis B. Inabinett, Sr. Post Office.

WHEN:

Thursday, October 30, 2014, 11 a.m.

WHERE:

Ravenel Post Office, 6239 Savannah Hwy 29470

WHY:

With this resolution, Congressman Clyburn honored Representative Curtis B. Inabinett, Sr. for a lifetime of public service.  Inabinett is a former educator who served in the U. S. Army in the Korean Conflict, and went on to become the first African-American Mayor of Ravenel.  Subsequently, he was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives and the Charleston County Council.  Program/agenda attached.
