| WHY: | The Postal Service in the Greater South Carolina District invites the media to witness the massive flow of mail through the Columbia Processing and Distribution Center, at the busiest hour, on the nation’s busiest mailing day. The Postal Service expects to process 15.5 billion pieces of mail during the 2015 holiday season, up 10.5 percent over last year. In time for the holidays, the Postal Service will offer real-time delivery notifications – meaning customers who sign up for alerts at myusps.com will receive notification within a few minutes of the delivery scan for select packages.
