Columbia Main Post Office to Host Passport Fair

To help travelers prepare for their international trips, the Columbia Main Post Office will host a passport fair Saturday, March 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Columbia Main Post Office, 1601 Assembly Street, Columbia, South Carolina, 29201.

“We are really excited to facilitate this special passport fair event,” said Columbia Postmaster Walter Rowland. “Residents can have their passport applications processed quickly and efficiently.”

In order to expedite the passport application process, customers are encouraged to complete applications before arriving. Customers should allow 15 minutes per transaction, depending upon the number of applicants in a transaction. All applicants must appear in person (including minors and both parents).

Passport fees are as follows: Adults: Books $110, Cards - $30; Children (under 16): Books - $80, Cards - $15. USPS Fees: $25 execution fee; photos (if needed) - $15.

Identification, including a copy, is required to prove U.S. citizenship, such as:

  • Previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport
  • Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county, or state (long form)
  • Consular report of birth abroad or birth certificate
  • Naturalization certificate

In addition, one current ID is required, such as:

  • Naturalization certificate
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current government ID (city, state or federal)
  • Current military ID (military and dependents)

Anyone interested may schedule an appointment at the Columbia Main Post Office Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. or call the USPS Call Center at 803-926-6354. We will also accept walk-ins on the day of the event and will work you in to our scheduled appointments.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
