ABERDEEN, SD — A water line break has forced the Aberdeen Postal Service to temporarily move retail and Post Office Box operations out of the current building.

Delivery operations are not impacted and customers will get their normal mail at their normal time.

The Postal Service is in the process of exploring alternate retail services until the building can be assessed and necessary repairs made.

Most retail services can be provided at the following nearby locations:

Kesslers
615 6TH AVE SE
ABERDEEN, SD 57401-4538
Mon-Sat 8:00am - 10:00pm

Quality Quick Print
2217 6TH AVE SE
ABERDEEN, SD 57401-5118
Mon-Fri 7:30am - 7:00pm
Sat 9:00am - 1:00pm

Post Office Box operations for approximately 700 customers are currently suspended, but are expected to resume through a temporary tent location on the property this week. Post Office Box mail will be distributed through a caller service. Please bring proper ID.

This is an emergency suspension of services, not a permanent closure. Additional details will be provided as they become available regarding the resumption of services.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers and are working to quickly find a solution,” said Postmaster Cheryl Fehr.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
