NASHVILLE, TN — The Nashville South Station recently held a recognition ceremony for employees to celebrate an entire fiscal year without an accident - there were no vehicle accidents or industrial accidents at the station from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017. All employees contributed to this achievement including letter carriers, clerks, and management team members.
No other post office location in Nashville remained accident-free throughout the year. With postal jobs encompassing a wide variety of work environments, both inside and outside, and in all types of weather, employees at the South Station live the USPS Safety Motto, “Safety Depends on Me.”
“Much of our success depends upon our employees working in a safe and efficient manner,” says acting Nashville Postmaster Toni Franklin. “We want all Postal employees to safely return home to their families at the end of the day.”
Employees were treated to a catered breakfast and the office received a specially designed Safety trophy.
The Tennessee District serves ZIP Codes 370-374, 376-385 in Tennessee and 307 in northern Georgia.
The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
