DRIPPING SPRINGS, TX—The U.S. Postal Service has completed a new building to serve the community of Dripping Springs. The new Post Office will open its doors to the public on Sept. 14, said Dripping Springs Postmaster Chuck Farber.
"Our customers are going to like our larger lobby and improved customer service area," Postmaster Farber added.
Located at 1450 Hwy. 290 West, the new 10,000-square-foot building on approximately three acres offers more than twice the parking of the former facility (55 vs. 20 spaces). The new facility will have 1,800 Post Office boxes available for rental, compared to 1,500 in the old Post Office. The new office is located approximately four miles from the old Post Office, at 300 Mercer St.
The move is necessary because of significant population growth since the current Post Office was completed, Farber explained.
The Dripping Springs Post Office is one of more than 37,000 Postal Service facilities across the nation. The Dripping Springs Post Office has 21 employees. The Dripping Springs Post Office handles mail delivery for approximately 6,900 families and businesses.
