BUDA, TX—The U.S. Postal Service has completed a new building to serve the community of Buda. The new Buda Post Office is expected to open its doors to the public on Sept. 28, said Buda Postmaster Frank A. Cadena.
"Our customers are going to like our larger lobby and improved customer service area," Postmaster Cadena added.
Located at 1320 Cabela Dr., the 3,500-square-foot building located on approximately 3.5 acres offers more than twice the parking of the former facility (30 vs. 14 spaces). The new facility will have 1,208 PO boxes, compared to 1,164 in the old Post Office. "Our new Post Office is located about one mile from the existing Post Office," said Cadena.
The move is necessary because of significant population growth since the current Post Office was completed, he explained.
The Buda Post Office is one of more than 37,000 Postal Service facilities across the nation. The Buda Post Office has 24 employees. In Buda they deliver mail to 7,184 families and businesses in the 78610 ZIP code area.
