HUTTO, TX—The U.S. Postal Service has completed a new building to serve the community of Hutto. The new Hutto Post Office is expected to open its doors to the public on Oct. 26, said Hutto Officer-In-Charge Marlis Davidson.
"Our customers are going to like our larger lobby and improved customer service area," Davidson said.
Located at 388 Exchange Blvd., the 5,075-square-foot building located on approximately 2.8 acres offers 25 customer parking spaces, 10 more than the old facility offered. The new facility will have 1,074 PO boxes, compared to 759 in the old Post Office. "Our new Post Office is located about one mile from the existing Post Office," said Davidson.
The move is necessary because of significant population growth since the current Post Office was occupied, Davidson explained.
The Hutto Post Office is one of almost 37,000 Postal Service facilities across the nation. The Hutto Post Office has 21 employees. In Hutto they deliver mail to 6,981 families and businesses in the 78634 ZIP code area.
