DRIPPING SPRINGS, TX—The public is cordially invited to attend the grand opening and dedication ceremony for the new Dripping Springs Post Office, on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The dedication ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett will serve as keynote speaker for the official dedication, and will be joined by Rio Grande District Manager Manuel Arguello, Dripping Springs Postmaster Chuck Farber, and other Postal Service officials and representatives of the community.
The new Dripping Springs Post Office opened its doors to the public on Sept. 14.
Located at 1450 Hwy. 290 West, the new 10,000-square-foot building is situated on approximately 3 acres. The new Post Office offers 55 customer parking spaces, more than twice the 20 parking spaces available at the old Post Office facility. The new office is located approximately four miles from the old Post Office, at 300 Mercer St.
"The move is necessary because of significant population growth since the current Post Office was completed," said Dripping Springs Postmaster Chuck Farber.
The Dripping Springs Post Office is one of more than 37,000 Postal Service facilities across the nation. The Dripping Springs Post Office has 21 employees. The Dripping Springs Post Office handles mail delivery for approximately 6,900 families and businesses in the 78620 ZIP code area.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 26th in the 2008 Fortune 500.
