AUSTIN — On Feb. 23, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will host a "Grow Your Business Expo" with free seminars to help Austin area small-to-medium sized businesses reach out to their customers with services from the USPS. A variety of seminars will begin at 10 a.m. with sessions running every 30 minutes until 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Austin Main Post Office, located in Northeast Austin at 8225 Cross Park Dr.

“The Postal Service has opened up new ways for businesses to contact local markets with business messages quickly, easily, and cost-effectively,” says Austin Postmaster Fina Morales.  “Every Door Direct (EDD) and EDD Retail both offer a reach unparalleled by any other method to build more customer traffic and find new business. Every Door Direct Retail is perfect for businesses that have not tried Direct Mail and want to prove its effectiveness.”

Save time on mail preparation, and save cost with no permit fees or mailing list needed. Now the “butcher, baker and pizza pie maker” can reach every mailbox with EDD and EDD Retail to get complete coverage in a designated neighborhood.

Another new tool for Postal Service customers is the Direct Mail Hub, which puts everything at customers’ fingertips to conveniently manage a direct mail campaign with two easy options — do it yourself or have it done for you.

Businesses in the Greater Austin Metro Area can learn more about EDD, EDD Retail, Direct Mail Hub and other programs that can benefit virtually any business by attending the free "Grow Your Business Expo." A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
