SAN ANTONIO — The Postal Service is now accepting applications for transitional and postal support jobs for facilities around the state. The influx of retiring postal employees this year has left openings in the Postal Service's workforce.
The job positions are being posted on www.usps.com/employment under the "search jobs and apply online section." Positions are being posted weekly; anyone wishing to apply must do so in a five-day window. It is suggested that applicants check the web page consistently to keep up with the position openings.
The Postal Service is actively seeking to fill part-time positions currently available at the Sublime, TX Post Office, in Lavaca County, and at the Francitas, TX Post Office, in Jackson County. Work hours for the Sublime PO position are weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Saturday, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Work hours for the Francitas PO position are Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Starting pay is $11.76 per hour. These jobs will be posted from Dec. 5 until Dec. 16. As previously noted, other positions may also become available and new positions may be found each week on the Postal Service’s employment website.
Pay for these non-career positions ranges from $11 to $22.15 per hour. The pay for temporary holiday positions will be $11 per hour. None of the positions will provide benefits, but they have the possibility to lead to permanent USPS employment.
