Emergency Suspension Effective COB June 14, 2013

GREENWOOD, TX — The U.S. Postal Service will implement an emergency suspension of the Greenwood, TX Post Office, located at 100 Main St., Greenwood, TX 76246, effective close of business on Friday, June 14, 2013.  Retail services at this office will be closed until further notice.  Customers will still be able to obtain their mail from their Post Office Boxes at this location.  Postal officials cited Lack of Qualified Personnel as the reason for the office’s suspension, which is not a permanent closure.

Mailing addresses for customers served by the Greenwood Post Office will remain the same - PO box numbers and last line of information (city, state and ZIP) will not change

Customers may purchase stamps, mail packages and conduct other postal business at the nearby Slidell Post Office, located at 112 County Rd 2820, Slidell, TX 76267, with retail service available weekdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and on Saturdays, 7:30 to 11:15 a.m., or they may visit the Decatur Post Office, located at 206 E Walnut St, Decatur, TX  76234.  Retail window service hours for the Decatur Post Office are weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed on Saturday.
