HOUSTON, TX — The U.S. Postal Service is now accepting applications for a variety of non-career Postal Service positions needed in Houston and outlying suburban post offices.  The Local job openings will be posted online starting on Wednesday, Sept. 23, for short term peak holiday mailing season jobs and also for a variety of longer term positions, with plans to hire and fill these openings soon.

The salary for these positions range from $9.00 to $19.50 per hour, with variable work hours and workdays, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.  Start time is flexible and successful applicants must be available when called to report to work. Work hours will vary.

The positions are non-career, some with limited benefits, and some are rewarding career path positions with the full benefits of a federal employee.  Note: Limited benefits for some non-career Postal Service positions include paid vacation days, contractual pay raises, and eligible to enroll in the USPS Non-Career Employee Health Benefits Plan.

Texas Postal Service positions are currently posted online at www.usps.com/employment under the "Search Open Jobs" section. Anyone wishing to apply for a specific job must do so within the Job Posting Period. The Postal Service encourages applicants to check the Postal Service’s employment web page often to keep up with any changes in various position openings.  Postal Service jobs across the state are posted weekly.
