SAN PERLITA, TX — Recent heavy rainfall has flooded much of the local community and blocked access to the San Perlita Post Office, located at 14264 FM 2209.  Due to the flood, the Post Office has been closed this week and will remain closed until further notice pending an assessment of the building once floodwaters recede and the building can be accessed.

Until the San Perlita Post Office reopens, alternate retail services and mail service for approximately 225 Post Office Box customers with ZIP Code 78590 will be provided during normal business hours by the nearby Raymondville Post Office, 705 E Hildago Ave., Raymondville, TX 78580.

Until a full assessment of the San Perlita Post Office building can be completed and any needed clean up or repairs are made, there is no current timeline for resumption of postal operations for this office.  The Postal Service regrets any inconvenience to its customers and will work to restore operations for this office as soon as possible.

Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to the Postal Service’s Website www.usps.com to get the location of other nearby Post Offices and approved postal retail service providers.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
