SAN ANTONIO, TX — District Manager Mary Sullivan today announced adjusted holiday hours for Rio Grande District Postal Service operations on the Thanksgiving Day Holiday.  All Post Offices will be closed and there will be no regular mail delivery or collections on Nov. 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday.

Due to an expected limited demand for postal services in some locations on the day before Thanksgiving, some Rio Grande District Post Offices will be closing around noon; however, there will be normal mail delivery, including delivery to Post Office boxes.  Signs will be posted in advance at Post Offices that will be closing early on Nov. 25.

Should their local Post Office be closed, postal customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS (800-275-8777) or use the Locate a Post Office feature on the U.S. Postal Service website: www.usps.com, to find the location of other nearby Post Offices remaining open on Nov. 25.

Normal Post Office retail hours of operation and full mail delivery services will resume at all offices on Friday, Nov. 27.

Postal products are also available at many retail outlets, grocery stores, office supply chains and pharmacies.  Postal customers can usually find dozens of locations to purchase postal services within their neighborhoods by visiting an interactive map at www.uspseverywhere.com and typing in their ZIP Code. Using a simple icon guide designating stamps, shipping and packaging, PO Boxes and other services, customers can easily navigate to retail outlets, grocery stores, Automated Postal Center (APC) kiosks and Post Offices, among other options.

Postal customers are reminded the Post Office is always open at www.usps.com.

The Rio Grande District includes all Postal Service operations for the following areas of Central, South and West Texas, with 3-digit ZIP code prefixes: 765-767, 779, 780-789, and 797-799.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
