SAN ANTONIO, TX — Post Offices in the U.S. Postal Service’s Rio Grande District (includes all Central, South and West Texas Post Offices with 3-digit ZIP code prefixes: 733, 765 to 767, 779 to 789, 797 to 799, 885) will be open Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31. Some Post Offices will shorten retail lobby hours and close at noon on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. Regular mail delivery on Dec. 24 will not be unaffected by the change.

Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office closing early on Christmas Eve and commercial customers are asked to check with their business mail entry units for specific information regarding holiday hours of operation.

Customers requiring postal services later on Christmas Eve are encouraged to contact their local Post Office. Customers also may call the Postal Service’s toll-free information line: 1.800.ASK.USPS (1.800.275-8777) or go to online to www.usps.com to check on Post Office hours of operation in their local area.

Post Offices will be closed Dec. 25, for the Christmas Day Holiday, and Jan. 1, for the New Year’s Day Holiday, and there will be no retail service or regular mail delivery and collections made. Only Priority Mail Express will be delivered in select locations on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. On Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, the days following the holidays, all Post Offices normally open on Saturday will be open regular weekend hours to provide full retail services. Full mail delivery service and Saturday mail collections will resume on the days after the holidays.
