LUBBOCK, TX — The U.S. Postal Service in the Lubbock area has been affected by the severe winter weather and will be unable to make mail deliveries today.  The Postal Service will evaluate conditions on a daily basis and attempt deliveries where it is deemed safe for our employees.

Customers are encouraged to call their local Post Office or the toll-free number below for updates on retail operations.

Postal residential and business customers are asked to clear their mailbox area of snow, sleet, slush, ice and debris, including nearby sidewalks, steps and porches.

Customers can call the Postal Service's toll-free number 800-ASK-USPS (800-275-8777) or the TTY number 877-TTY-2HLP (877-889-2457) for help with any postal related questions they may have.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
