(Beaumont) — After a ravaging flood turned their city upside down last month, customers in Deweyville, TX can now retrieve their mail from Post Office Boxes, buy stamps and mail packages at a a Mobile Retail Post Office, located on the parking lot of the Deweyville Post Office. In an effort to establish normalcy for business and residential mailers, Postal officials say this is the right thing to do, when the community needs help.

Houston District Marketing Manager Kelvin Dansby says these are the days and hours of operation:

(9:30 a.m. – 12 noon) —  (1:00 p.m. — 3:45 p.m.) — Monday — Friday
9:30 a.m. — 11:30 a.m. — Saturday

Since there is no internet connection in the retail mobile post office, only cash and checks will be accepted to pay for stamps and shipping services such as Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and First through Fourth Class Mail. Special Services like Registered and Certified Mail are also available.

“It is our intention to provide retail postal services for customers, who need to reestablish their lives during a tough period,” said Dansby.
