SAN ANTONIO – Postmaster Willie J. Trawick announced today that, due to upcoming Oyster Bake 2016 festivities, the letter collection box located at 1 Camino Santa Maria Drive on the St. Mary’s University campus will be closed and unavailable for collection of mail from Friday, April 15, through Sunday, April 17. Normal collections for this box will resume on Monday, April 18.
According to Postmaster Trawick, “Our concern for safety makes this closure necessary. The traffic becomes very congested as a result of the Oyster Bake activities, and it becomes extremely difficult for our customers to gain access to this collection point. This creates a potential hazardous situation for our customers”.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.# # #
