SATIN, TX — Today, the U.S. Postal Service implemented an emergency suspension of the Satin Post Office, located at 135 County Road 4039, Satin, TX 76685, until further notice pending an assessment of possible health and safety issues with the building.

While the Satin Post Office is under an emergency suspension, alternate retail and P.O. Box services for the approximately 50 customers served by this office will be provided by the nearby Chilton Post Office, 2581 State Hwy 7, Chilton, TX 76632.

Until the assessment is completed, no one will be permitted inside the facility.  Currently, there is no timeline for resumption of postal operations at this office.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience to our customers. The safety and well-being of both customers and employees is of utmost importance to the Postal Service. We are working to resolve this issue, and will provide a status update to our customers once a thorough assessment has been completed.

Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to the Postal Service’s Website www.usps.com to get the location of other nearby Post Offices and approved postal retail service providers.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
