FORT WORTH, TX — Kevin Farmer accepted his new post as the 37th Postmaster of Fort Worth Friday, November 18. The ceremony was held at Fort Worth City Hall Council Chambers with Fort Worth postal managers, Postal Customer Council (PCC) members, family, friends and a many district employees. Southern Area Vice President Area Operations, Shaun E. Mossman gave Kevin the oath of office. “I knew Kevin was the right selection for this position because I know that his motivation and dedication will benefit the community and the Postal Service,” said Mossman.
Fort Worth’s new postmaster pledged superior service, delivery, and dedication to the community. “It is my goal to provide Fort Worth with our high standards of service, while ensuring the safety of our most important resource our employees,” said Farmer.
As Postmaster, Kevin is responsible for the overall administrative and operational activity for approximately 1,166 employees at 44 stations, branches and contract units. With an annual operating budget of $94 million, Fort Worth has approximately 606 city and rural routes that provide service to 440,000 addresses.
Kevin began his postal career in 1998 as a distribution clerk in Nashville, TN and within nine years became postmaster of Fairview, TN. He has since then served in many increasing management capacities throughout the country before coming to Fort Worth.
Prior to his postal career, Kevin served in the US Army as an air traffic controller. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting and an M.B.A.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
