What:

Dallas Postmaster Yulonda Love and Dallas Post Office Letter Carrier Randall Hebert will address the Dallas City Council as Dog Bite Awareness Week concludes.

When:

Wednesday, May 25, 2016
9:00 a.m.

Where:

Dallas City Council Chambers
Dallas, Texas

Background:

The figure of 6,549 letter carriers bitten or attacked by dogs in 2015 pales in comparison to the more than 2 million children who were needlessly victimized by dogs. The owners of many of the canines claimed their pet “would never bite” or even “wouldn’t hurt a fly.” This year, the Postal Service and its letter carriers work to prevent these painful, sometimes fatal, injuries by promoting community awareness and responsible pet ownership.
