CHAPMAN RANCH, TX — The U.S. Postal Service is considering the potential relocation of retail services for the Chapman Ranch Post Office, located at 1004 County Road, Chapman Ranch, TX 78347, to a new, yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the existing Post Office location in order to better serve postal customers in the community.  Retail services for the currently suspended Chapman Ranch Post Office are now being provided by the Corpus Christi Portairs Station Post Office, 4213 S. Port Ave., Corpus Christi, TX 78415.

The U.S. Postal Service will be hosting a public meeting at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday, August 10, at the Corpus Christi Portairs Station Post Office (address listed above).  Officials with the Postal Service’s Facility Department will be there to share information and answer questions.

Postal customers, including those unable to attend the August 10 meeting, may submit written comments to the following address:

U.S. Postal Service Southern Facilities Service Office
c/o Damian Salazar, Real Estate Specialist
7800 N. Stemmons Freeway, Suite 400
Dallas, TX 75247-4220

The Postal Service will consider all comments prior to making its final decision.  All comments and recommendations received by September 11, 2017, will be considered.

A public notice, along with a copy of the Postal Service’s letter to the Chapman Ranch mayor, is currently posted in the lobby of the Corpus Christi Portairs Station and on the door of the Chapman Ranch Post Office.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
