CAMERON, TX — On March 1, the Cameron, TX Post Office will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the occupancy of its current, historic location, at 202 W 2nd St, Cameron, TX 76520.  In recognition of this event, the post office will host an open house and customer appreciation day open to the general public.

The current Cameron Post Office facility was first occupied on March 1, 1918.  The 6,400-square-foot building has seen some additions since it first opened one hundred years ago, including the extension of a three-bay loading dock sometime in the 1950's.  The post office currently has 16 total employees now serving approximately 9,000 customers in ZIP code 76520, delivering mail for four city and four rural mail routes, and to approximately 700 PO Box customers.

Postmaster Glenn A. Cole invites members of the community to stop by the office throughout the day on March 1 to view historic photographs and catch up on local history.
