LUFKIN, TX – Effective Friday, April 27, 2018, at 4:00 p.m., operations at the Lufkin Downtown Post Office, located at 608 E Lufkin Rd., Lufkin, TX 75902, will be temporarily suspended. The Postal Service apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
Starting Monday, April 30, 2018, P.O. Box and retail customers who formerly used the Lufkin Downtown Post Office can access these same services at the Lufkin Main Post Office (MPO), 800 S John Reddit Dr., Lufkin, TX. Window service hours at the new location are Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The office is closed on Sunday. P.O. Box customers will have access to their boxes 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Customers with P.O. Boxes at the Downtown Post Office recently received letters providing detailed information on steps needed to ensure their mail service continues uninterrupted at the new location. Customers do not need to take any action regarding their mailing address. Their current P.O. Box numbers and ZIP Code 75902 will remain the same. However, box holders from the Downtown location will need to obtain a new key for the Lufkin MPO location. These keys will be available to the P.O. Box holder of record beginning April 27, 2018, at the Lufkin MPO retail window during normal business hours.
Additional postal retail services are also available at the Keltys Retail Unit Post Office, located at 1908 N Raguet, Lufkin, TX 75903. Window service hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and closed on weekends.
“The Postal Service sincerely appreciates our customers’ patience and understanding as we make this transition as smooth as possible,” said Postmaster Jeffery Lloyd. “We will continue to provide the best mail service possible to our customers.”
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
