D’HANIS, TX — Today, the U.S. Postal Service implemented a temporary suspension of the D’Hanis Post Office, located at 7370 County Road 525, D’Hanis, TX 78850, until further notice, pending an assessment of possible safety issues with the building.
While the D’Hanis Post Office is under this temporary suspension, alternate retail and P.O. Box services will be provided by the nearby Hondo Post Office, 1108 17th St., Hondo, TX 78961. D’Hanis P.O. Box customers with ZIP Code 78850 may pick up their mail at the Hondo Post Office during normal business hours, starting Saturday, April 7, 2018. Hondo Post Office hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., and closed Sunday.
Mail delivery to residential and business customers will continue as usual; however, customers will need to pick up any “left notice” packages and accountable mail items from the Hondo Post Office, until operations resume at the D’Hanis Post Office.
Until the assessment is completed, no one will be permitted inside the D’Hanis facility. Currently, there is no timeline for resumption of postal operations at this office.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience to our customers. The safety and well-being of both customers and employees is of the utmost importance to the Postal Service. We are working to resolve this issue, and will provide a status update to our customers once a thorough assessment has been completed.
Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to the Postal Service’s Website www.usps.com to get the location of other nearby Post Offices and approved postal retail service providers.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
