Yoakum’s New Postmaster To Be Officially Recognized

YOAKUM, TX — Mary C. Koenig, who was recently appointed as Yoakum, TX, Postmaster, will be officially sworn in during an oath of office ceremony to be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov.,30, at the Yoakum Post Office, 112 Nelson Street, Yoakum TX 77995.  Also on that day a pictorial postmark cancellation will be available at this office to celebrate 100 years in the Yoakum Post Office building.

In 2003, Koenig began her postal career in Victoria, TX, as a rural carrier associate.  In 2007, she transferred to the Yoakum, TX Post Office as a part-time flexible city letter carrier.  She became a retail associate in 2010 and was later promoted to a supervisory position at the Cuero, TX Post Office.  Koenig was named Yoakum Postmaster Aug. 4, 2018.  The swearing in ceremony will make it official.  

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
