MERRIFIELD, VA — Customer traffic at Postal retail counters is expected to decrease significantly on Saturday July 2. To balance anticipated customer needs with efficient use of resources, many Post Office retail units will close or adjust hours on Saturday July 2.
Below is a summary of Northern Virginia Postal operations for the July 4 holiday:
Retail operations
- Saturday, July 2- many Post Offices will adjust hours or close. Please see the attachments for a list of Post Office hours.
- Sunday, July 3- all Post Offices will be closed.
- Monday, July 4-all Post Offices will be closed.
Collections
- Saturday, July 2- normal collections.
- Sunday, July 3- there will be no collections.
- Monday, July 4- there will be no collections.

- Saturday, July 2- there will be normal delivery.

This equipment is often located in the postal lobby with 24-hour customer access. Automated Postal Centers support up to 85 percent of all possible retail transactions, including the purchase of additional services such as Delivery Confirmation™. Customers can purchase stamps or mail letters and parcels using debit or EBT credit cards.
