RICHMOND, VA – Starting on January 28, 2014, through February 27th, customers in Hampton Roads and southeastern Virginia are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to learn about ways the Postal Service can help their businesses grow.
Business Development Specialist Sebrina Brown will be available in the Post Office lobbies listed below from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on the dates below. She will share ideas about how an inexpensive product called Every Door Direct Mail, for example, can help a business get their message in the hands of customers for as little as 17.5¢ per mail piece – much less than the cost of First-Class Mail, and with no need to purchase a mailing list. Marketing research shows that if a customer receives a piece of mail – especially one containing a coupon or discount – they are more likely to try a business or service that is new to them. And they’re more likely to patronize a business that puts savings in their hands.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With more than 31,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $65 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world's mail. If it were a private-sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500.
