RICHMOND, VAUpdate: Evergreen Post Office, located at 7077 Old Evergreen Road, is now able to offer customers some retail services and the ability to pick up their PO Box mail from the USPS Mobile Retail Van which is staged in the Evergreen Post Office customer parking lot. Evergreen customers will now no longer have to drive to Pamplin Post Office to pick up their mail. The blue collection box and the relay box have been moved to a concrete pad which has been installed in front of the Retail Van. This will eliminate the need for customers to approach the Post Office building and ascend the stairs during the repair process.

During the tornado on Feb. 24, 2016, the roof of the building, which housed a vacant general store and the Evergreen Post Office, was blown off and windows were damaged. Repairs are currently underway. Customers are advised to be aware of construction materials, possible debris and vehicles when entering the parking lot. Customers are also strongly cautioned to carefully watch their footing in the area around the Retail Van and collection box.

The hours of operation for customers utilizing the Evergreen Post Office location are:

  • Monday – Friday: 10:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Customers are required to show a photo ID to receive their mail. Retail services are available and stamps and services may be purchased utilizing cash or check as payment methods. There is temporarily no option to pay via credit or debit card at the Retail Van. Customers who prefer to pay via credit or debit card are invited to travel to Pamplin Post Office at 1 Church Street, Pamplin, VA 23958.

The Postal Service is working with the building owner to restore full service to the Evergreen Post Office building as quickly as possible. Pamplin Postmaster Tawana Booth, who also has responsibility for the Evergreen Post Office, welcomes customers who have questions or concerns to call her at 434-248-5371.

We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
