RICHMOND — The Skippers Post Office, located at 5334 Skippers Road, is temporarily closed due to damage to the ceiling. Operations for the Skippers Post Office have been moved to the Emporia Post Office, located at 109 South Main Street, Emporia, Virginia 23847.

Customers of Skippers Post Office are asked to retrieve their mail and obtain retail services at the Emporia Post Office, 5.6 miles away. The hours of operation for Emporia Post Office are:

• Monday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Saturday: 10 a.m. – noon

At the present time, Skippers Post Office customers will have to request their mail at the window during Emporia’s retail hours. Customers are required to show a photo ID to receive their mail.  Emporia customers will continue to have 24-hour access to their PO Boxes, except on Sunday when the building is closed.

The Postal Service is working with the building owner to restore service to the Skippers Post Office as quickly as possible. Emporia Postmaster Jennifer Banty asks customers who have questions or concerns to call her at 434-634-0895.
