Post Office temporarily suspends retail service at Greenbackville Post Office building

GREENBACKVILLE, VA — Postal officials have reported a temporary, emergency suspension of the Greenbackville Post Office, located at 1529 Stockton Ave, Greenbackville, VA 23356, due to safety concerns effective Friday, April 21 at 4:30 p.m.

The Postal Service is working cooperatively with the landlord to reopen the building as soon as possible.

Until service can be restored, PO Box mail for the 118 customers served by the Greenbackville Post Office will be available for pick up, with proper identification, at the nearby Horntown Post Office, located at 4581 Fleming Rd., Horntown VA 23395.  

Retail hours at the Horntown Post Office are 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2 p.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Customers can also visit New Church Post Office, located at 4136 Lankford Hwy, New Church VA 23415. Retail hours at the New Church Post Office are 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2 p.m.to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. 

Customers can call the Horntown Post Office at 757-824-5573 with questions or concerns or go to the Postal Service’s website www.usps.com  for online mailing options.
