CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — The Postal Service is hosting a Customer Appreciation Day to thank postal customers for their business.

USPS representatives will offer demonstrations of several Postal Service products and online services, including the popular “Informed Delivery,” a free service that lets you see images of letter-sized mail that will be in your mailbox soon.

Information on holiday mailing dates will be available. Customers will have the opportunity to inquire about other services offered by the U.S. Postal Service.

Also, customers who own small businesses will learn details about the USPS’s Every Door Direct Mail service, which provides an inexpensive way for local shops and other businesses to promote their offerings in specific geographic areas using the power of direct mail.

“We want our customers to know we appreciate them,” said Charlottesville Postmaster Cloteal Farmer. “We’re working hard to continue to earn their business.”

Customers are invited to drop by Barracks Road Station, Downtown Station and Charlottesville Main Post Office to enjoy some light refreshments, and meet the Postmaster and staff.

The following Charlottesville locations will host Customer Appreciation Day between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 14:  Barracks Road Station, 2150 Wise Street
  • Wednesday, Nov. 15:  Downtown Station, 513 E Main Street
  • Thursday, Nov. 16: Charlottesville Main Post office, 1155 Seminole Trail

The U.S. Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
