This Tuesday, March 27, 2018, Traci Miller will follow a proud tradition dating back to when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States. Miller will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Chesapeake Postmaster during an installation ceremony at the Chesapeake Central Library. U.S. Representative Robert “Bobby” Scott of the 3rd District of Virginia, Chesapeake City Manager James Baker, Chesapeake Police Chief K.L. Wright, Chesapeake Deputy Chief of Police Mark Solesky and Chesapeake Commissioner of Revenue Frank King will be in attendance. The Postal Service’s Capital Metro Area Manager of Operations Randy Stines will administer the official oath of office. Miller began her career with the Postal Service in 1998. Miller has held several positions including Supervisor of Customer Services in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. She held the position of Customer Services Manager in 2003 and has served in this capacity in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach. She became Virginia Beach Manager of Customer Services Operations in 2014. The event is open to the public. |
