Robert Montgomery named Seattle Postmaster

31-year veteran of postal agency

SEATTLE – Robert Montgomery, a 31-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, has been named Postmaster of Seattle. He succeeds Katherine Nash who is now the Seattle District Manager.

Montgomery joined the Postal Service in 1980 as a Management Associate in Anchorage AK. He served in a number of positions in Phoenix AZ, Missoula MT and Portland OR as part of the Management Associate training process.

He came to Bellevue WA as Manager of Customer Service in 1987 and was promoted to Postmaster in Bellevue in 1991. In 2003 he moved into the Seattle District Office as Manager, Post Office Operations overseeing a number of post offices in the district. He has been the Acting Seattle Postmaster for the last year.

Montgomery has a degree in Business Administration from Troy State University.
