SEATTLE — The U.S. Postal Service this week recognized Nordstrom and zulily, both headquartered in Seattle, with its National Postal Forum Mail Technology National Award for their support of the success of mail and their commitment to a successful business relationship with the Postal Service.
Nordstrom and zulily are two of 18 companies recognized this year by the Postal Service at the National Postal Forum (NPF), which, for more than 40 years, has been recognized as the premier educational trade show for the mailing industry.
“We are pleased to recognize and honor Nordstrom and zulily for their innovation, creativity and leadership,” said Drew Aliperto, USPS vice president Western Area, who nominated Nordstrom and zulily for the award. “By working closely with the Postal Service to develop strategic business solutions, Nordstrom and zulily have produced winning results, which supports the mailing industry.”
The Mail Technology National Award, presented annually at the NPF, recognizes Postal Service customers who have implemented innovative mailing solutions. Winning companies embrace new technologies and implement best practices to improve efficiency and productivity in mail operations. They provide customers with a mail product that delivers increased value, which benefits customers and the mailing industry.
Nordstrom is one of the first retailers to fill orders with merchandise shipped directly to customer from full-line stores, with free two-way shipping. Nordstrom implemented Priority Mail at the ship from store level to reduce time-in-transit by leveraging the USPS seven-day network.
In addition to expediting products to loyal customers, zulily’s partnership with the Postal Service has been part of an ongoing strategic focus for a cost-effective last-mile delivery solution. By investing in electronic verification, Zulily is able to leverage USPS technology and associated shipping capabilities.
Nordstrom and zulily use Postal Service programs and technology to fine-tune their operations to offer a best-in-class product at the best cost for their customers.
