Eleven years ago, the Postal Service had a vision that became reality as they requested nominations submitted from the community for women who have made a positive impact on their community. The event was held in conjunction with Women’s History Month to recognize these individuals, and became a huge success for both the Postal Service as well as Metro Milwaukee communities. Previous recipients of the “Women Putting their Stamp on Metro Milwaukee” Award take on the responsibility of selecting the newest honorees from the submitted nominations. In 2009, 15 women will be honored, bringing the total number of honorees, past and present, to an impressive 236.
