In an effort by the United States Postal Service (USPS) and the MPS district to show the troops that children care, principals and teachers in 90 of the district’s schools signed on to receive USPS mailbags to fill with student letters that will be sent to troops serving overseas.
Participants range in age. They include kindergarten children who plan to make cards to high school students who will write letters of thanks.
Thousands of letters and artwork will be created and collected the week of November 16, and consolidated for the event.
Operation: S.T.A.M.P.S. is a great opportunity to develop student’s writing/creative skills and bring smiles to the faces of the military men and women serving our country overseas.
