Postal Service is Now Hiring for the Holidays

OSHKOSH, WI – The Oshkosh Postal Plant is now hiring clerk and mail handler positions to help process and sort the mail during the holidays.  No experience required, training is provided.

“We’re looking for motivated applicants,” said Senior Plant Manager Bob Prahl. “These are part-time positions with some of them leading to a career with the Postal Service.”

Salaries for these positions range from $14.00-$16.06 per hour paid bi-weekly, with variable work hours and work days, including holidays and weekends. Duties for these positions are physically demanding and include moderate to heavy lifting, carrying, prolonged standing, walking and reaching. Start time is flexible and successful applicants must be available when called to report to work.

  • Sorting outgoing and incoming mail, loading mail onto automated equipment
  • Monitoring flow of the mail, running machine reports, clearing mail jams
  • Prepares work area, ensuring all equipment and materials are in proper place
  • Follows established safe work methods, procedures and safety precautions while performing duties
  • Loads and unloads and moves bulk mail and empties  mail from containers
  • Operates equipment as needed to move and process the mail
  • Must be 18 years of age and not enrolled in high school
  • Must pass criminal background check and pass drug screening
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident alien status
