The holidays are the busiest time of the year for the Postal Service. This year, e-commerce and package delivery is expected to increase by 12 percent. Customers are encouraged to drop their cards and letters in postal blue collection boxes during the holiday mailing season to help ensure their mail gets into the Madison P&DC earlier in the day and processed sooner.
The Busiest Mailing Day for cards, letters, and packages is expected to be Monday, December 19 with 4.9 million pieces of mail processed.
50 thousand packages will be delivered on December 22nd, the busiest delivery day.  To ensure mail arrives on time for the holidays, Standard Post should be mailed by Dec. 15, First-Class Mail by Dec. 20, Priority Mail by Dec. 21, and Priority Express Mail by Dec. 23. Learn more at www.usps.com.
