Madison, WI — The Madison Post Office will be open Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24. Retail hours at all branch locations will open at normal times and close at noon except Westside (3:30 PM) and Main Office (4:00 PM) on Christmas Eve. Regular mail delivery will remain the same.
Retail hours will be posted at all Madison area post office branches and commercial customers are asked to check with the business mail entry unit for specific information regarding holiday hours of operation.
Mail in postal blue collection boxes located on the street throughout the Madison area will be picked up for the final time on Christmas Eve at noon. All other collection boxes will be picked up for the final time at retail closing.
The Madison Post Office will be open and observe regular business hours of operation on New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31. Regular collection box times will be observed. Additionally, regular mail delivery will be conducted.
Customers are encouraged to go online to www.usps.com or call 800-ASK-USPS for information about Post Office hours of operation for the Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays. Commercial customers should check with their Business Mail Entry Units for hours of operation.
In observance of the holidays, the Madison Post Office will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Because Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on Sunday this year, the Madison Post Office will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2, the observed federal holidays. Only Priority Mail Express will be delivered on the actual holidays as well as the observed holidays. The Madison Post Office will be open and regular mail delivery will resume Dec. 27 and Jan. 3. Postal services, including buying stamps and gifts, paying for postage and Post Office Boxes, and other transactions, are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at www.usps.com.
