MINERAL POINT, WI — After four decades of working in various capacities in many different towns, Sales and Service Associate Brenda Rossing, will be retiring with close to 31 years of service. Saturday, April 28, will be her last official day at work.

“We’re very happy for Brenda,” said Postmaster Connie McGinley. “She has had a quite a postal career. During that time, she has been a dedicated postal employee and has always taken great pride in providing excellent service to her customers.”

Brenda Rossing was hired back in 1987 at the Friendship Post Office. She later worked at the Argyle, Blanchardville, Mineral Point, Monroe, New Glarus, Mount Horeb, Oregon, and most recently, Belmont Post Offices. She was worked as a postal clerk, retail associate, letter carrier, and Officer-in-Charge. She also worked under 18 Postmasters during her more than 30 years of service.

Throughout her career, she has enjoyed the daily interaction with customers, something she looked forward to when coming to work. “What I enjoyed most about working for the Post Office is the people, and how I can serve them to have the best positive experience as a customer,” said Rossing. “I loved helping and getting to know them.”

Even though she’s retiring, Rossing said she will be plenty busy in the days ahead. “We have five grandchildren and one on the way in July,” she said. “So, I will be free to go wherever I am needed. Investing time with my husband, children, grandchildren and my aging parent’s lives is important to me,” she added.

Local residents are encouraged to stop by the Belmont Post Office to say good bye to Rossing before her last day this Saturday. “We all wish Brenda well in her retirement,” added McGinley.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
